Sega Rally Championship 2

It's finally here... Sega Rally 2! I've been playing this at one of my local arcades in Newquay, UK, and it's GREAT. It's much better than Sega Rally 1.

This game is now my all time favourite arcade game at this time. It takes over from Sega Rally 1 (see below). There are 8 different cars to choose from, and the championship is run over 4 courses. There is also a handbrake for use on those tricky hairpins.

Some Sega Rally 2 Links

• Anecdote has a site devoted to Sega Rally 2. This includes hints and tips, course guides (for 4 wheel drive cars and Peugot 306 Maxi), and an overseas high score table (i.e. not including Japan), amongst others.
• Sega have the Sega Rally offical home page. It is worth looking at the Sega Rally 2 Forum as lots of the good drivers visit and give tips. You can ask questions here also.
• DES has a site that has a course guide for the Lancia Stratos, and lots more including another high score table, this time organised by regions of the world.

Old Favourites:

Hard driving. At the time I think this was the best driving game in the arcades.

Marble Madness. I haven't seen this game for quite a few years now, but I used to play it all the time.

Ancient Favourites: machines you don't see any more *sigh*:

Defender, Joust, Scramble, Asteroids, Missile Command.

However, I have managed to get hold of authentic Defender and Joust (and some other old Williams games) for my PC. They run on a Williams arcade machine emulator on the PC and run the original ROMs so they are *exactly* the same as the arcade versions (except for the controls, of course!).
